Lying to the north east of
the Kolam Segaran is a Muslim tomb dating from the year A.D. 1448. Popular belief
has it that this is the grave of a princess from Champa (Vietnam), who married the last
king of Majapahit and converted him to Islam. The princess is further connected with the Wali
Songo, or 'nine saints' of Islam, who were instrumental in spreading the new religion
throughout Java during the 15th and 16th centuries.
A Yoni
pedestal, inscribed with a date equivalent to A.D. 1372, is believed to have been
dedicated to Queen Tribbuwana Tunggadewi, or Bhre Kahuripan, located in the village of
Sooko, north east of Trowulan.
